Hospitality meets Emerging Tech

Curiosity and life-long learning can’t be underestimated. I’ve been lucky (and persistent) enough to continuously work in industries that fuel my passions and then there are the paths that weren’t as obvious. Hospitality, travel and entertainment will always be my foundation and within the past few years I’ve been able to bring emerging tech into the mix.

Many of us have pandemic pivot stories and I was fortunate enough to bring my marketing skills to a new location based entertainment startup, The Edge VR. What began as a freelance project while the hospitality industry was cautiously reopening, soon became a challenging and educational career experience.

I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside our company’s Founder & CEO, gaining a deeper understanding of the boundless energy and innovation needed to successfully run a business, especially one in emerging tech. I’ve also learned the vast differences between putting on a VR headset at home and the ability to have a real sense of presence and agency through interactions with objects and other people. This level of immersion has so many applications, including one that brings me full circle back to Hospitality, F&B and now – Eatertainment.

This week, Popcorn GTM launched their new restaurant tech podcast series Morning Sam, Morning Ralph. Kudos to our CEO, Adam Anfiteatro, for getting on board as the first guest to discuss the great potential for VR for Eatertainment, restaurants and brand activations.
